Whats in a name.

Contrary to popular belief, Oliver is derived from the old Norse name Áleifr meaning "ancestor's descendant." It has nothing to do with olives or olive trees. The most common nickname for Oliver is Ollie.

Other nicknames:
Oli Oli oxiclean
olivegarden
Captain oli-mar

Were there signs all along?

When Ollie was little, when he was Zoe, he hated everything girly.
No pink, no purple, no baby dolls.
Looking back all the signs were there.
I don't think he has been happy for a while. A long while.
I tried to make him girly. I pushed it on him.
Now I'm so happy that I get to correct my mistakes.
I get another son.
I will love Ollie the same as I loved Zoe.
I love Ollie with all my heart.

What now?

Therapy is a must at this point.
Ill be spending some time finding someone who specializes in transgender youth.
Ollie is on board.

Saturday he will be getting a haircut.
I'm surprised at how excited I'm getting at the thought of all these changes. Yes it will be very challenging but I already see changes in Ollie's attitude and happiness. He is smiling more and isolating less.
All I've ever wanted was happiness and good health for my kids.

Thank you all for your support.

This is Zoe. Soon to be Oliver.
On April 15th 2017 Zoe told my husband and I that she is transgender.
A few days have past and I'm in a bit of denial.
I love my daughter, I guess I should say son no matter what.
My husband and I hugged her and talked for along time.I think it went really well overall.
this is going to be a very hard road and there will be a lot of people that look down on us, especially Ollie, but we are in this together.
